FAQs

The Chat Lab is a private-pay practice. Many families choose to submit superbills to their insurance provider for possible outofnetwork reimbursement. I’m happy to provide the documentation you need.

1

Do you take insurance?

I work with children from early childhood through adolescence. Services are individualized based on developmental needs, learning style, and family goals.

2

What ages do you work with?

I provide:

  • Speech therapy

  • Language therapy

  • Comprehensive evaluations

  • IEP advocacy and schoolbased support

I do not offer AAC services or voice therapy.

3

What concerns do you treat?

What happens during the initial consultation?

4

The consultation is a conversation about your child’s history, strengths, and current concerns. You’ll receive guidance on whether therapy, an evaluation, or school based support is the best next step.

What does the evaluation process look like?

5

Evaluations include:

  • A detailed parent interview

  • Standardized and informal testing

  • Speech and language sampling

  • Functional observations

  • A written report with results and recommendations

You’ll receive clear, actionable next steps.

How long are therapy sessions?

6

Most sessions are 45 minutes. Session length may vary based on your child’s age, attention, and goals.

How often will my child attend therapy?

7

Frequency is determined after the evaluation and based on your child’s needs. Many children attend once or twice per week.

Yes. Virtual sessions are available when appropriate and can be a great option for families who need flexibility.

8

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Can you attend IEP meetings with us?

9

Yes. I can attend meetings virtually or in person when available. I help families prepare, understand the process, and communicate their priorities clearly.

What should my child bring to sessions?

10

Just themselves. If there are school reports, previous evaluations, or teacher concerns you’d like me to review, feel free to share them.

You can begin by scheduling a consultation. From there, we’ll determine whether therapy, an evaluation, or IEP advocacy is the best fit for your child.
